Most often: wrong dimensions, a background that isn’t plain and light, the head too large or too small in the frame, uneven lighting, or a photo older than six months.

Can I wear glasses in my visa or passport photo?

For US visas and passports, no — glasses aren’t allowed unless you have a signed medical statement. Other standards may allow them if there’s no glare and your eyes are fully visible. We flag glasses and glare for the standard you pick.

What will you fix, and what won’t you?

Size, crop, resolution and file weight are fixed automatically. Backgrounds are your choice: if yours doesn’t meet the rules, you can retake against a plain light wall, or let us replace it with a plain one. For US online renewals an original photo is safest. We never touch your face — facial shadow, expression, glare and sharpness need a retake.

Can you change my photo’s background?

Yes, if you ask us to. When a background fails, you choose: retake the photo, or tap “Fix background for me” and we replace everything behind your head and shoulders with the plain color your standard requires. Your face and hair outline stay as they were.

What if my photo is rejected?

If an official rejects a photo you downloaded from us for a rule we check, email the rejection notice to support@immplify.com within 90 days and we’ll refund the $7.99 in full. Judgement calls made by the official, like resemblance or expression, aren’t covered.

What happens to my photo?

It’s checked and corrected in memory on our servers and never stored or logged. The finished file exists only in your browser until you save it. Never shared or used to train AI.

Is a person checking my photo?

No, and that’s on purpose. Our system catches what the human eye misses: a head a few pixels too small, eyes slightly off the line, a faint shadow or uneven background tone. It measures every rule against the official numbers, the same way every time, in seconds. We’re confident enough to back it: if an official rejects your photo for a rule we check, you get your money back.
